The Little Three
You know what the Big 4 is, or at least you should know, cause I just gave it to you. So for the 98% of you that cannot recite the Big 4 IN ORDER, leaf back and pack it somewhere in the vast wasteland caverns of your brain that is just yearning for some filler.
Without all facets of the Big 4, you cannot survive over a period of time. Don't even attempt to enter the world of gambling without all 4.
But let's go a step further, after you memorize the Big 4, that is. There is something called the Little 3 and it's made up of three items that will make you a better player. But more importantly it will help cut losses.
Here is the Little 3:
(1) THEORY
(2) LOGIC
(3) TRENDS
We'll go over each separately, showing you their importance and how they add to the overall set of preparations that you must go through everyday.
The Little 3 is a step short of the Big 4, except for Trends. In sports betting, as in every other betting Endeavor, Trends dominate. Why?? I dunno. I haven't got a clue as to why they dominate, but they do.
Who can explain how a bunch of guys in short pants, all great athletes, can jump over tall buildings, run faster than a speeding bullet, and handle an oversized ball as if it were a marble?
But they can. And even these great specimens can run into a space of 6 or 7 games where they lose every night, and even fail to score at least 10 points in any one of these contests.
Then in the blink of an eye these same studs without any prior warning, will reel off 9 consecutive wins and you want me to explain it?
I still don't understand how they make pants that can fit fat guys, skinny guys, short guys, tall guys, ugly guys, etc., etc. I'm still working out how they get the yellow part of the egg into the white or how they slide lead into a wooden pencil. When I figure these things out, I'll get to work on trying to understand streaks ... for now just bet the ranch that they do exist.
We'll go deeper into Trends in due time. For now, just understand that they are a big part of sports. You must learn how to get them to work for you. Who cares why they happen?
So be aware of these streaks or Trends, they rank a freckle less that the Big 4, but throughout this book you'll see that I place these Trends right on a par with the necessary part of our figuring, almost up to Money Management and Discipline. Well, at least close enough ... nothing and I mean NOTHING is as important as those two:
Money Management and Discipline.
Without them, you don't have a prayer.
